Associazione Italiana di Metallurgia – AIM will host EUROCORR 2014, the 364th event of the EFC-European Federation of Corrosion, which will be held in Pisa, Italy, from 8 - 12 September 2014.
This premier event on Corrosion, will return to the same Latin land – Italy - where Pliny the Elder for the first time coined the phrase “ferrum corrumpitur”.
Scope of the Congress is to present the state-of-the-art in the fields of corrosion and protection of materials, both from a technical-scientific as well as from a practical application perspective, starting from those used in the past to the ones destined to modern industry. The event is meant to foster the transfer information of and experiences among researches and operators in the fields of corrosion and to benefit from information, collaboration and common enrichment.
The main Theme of EUROCORR 2014 will be “Improving materials durability: from cultural heritage to industrial applications” and it will aim at asserting the critical role of corrosion science, technology and engineering in extending the life of materials.
The scientific programme will comprise plenary meetings, keynote lectures, workshops and oral and poster presentations articulated into sessions referring to the themes of the 20 EFC Working Parties.
The Local Organizing Committee and the Congress Chairmen, Lorenzo Fedrizzi, Luciano Lazzari, and Arjan Mol invite perspective authors to submit contributions and look forward to welcoming EUROCORR 2014 in Pisa.
